Review: Spirit Break Out

Worship Central released Spirit Break Out last month.

I like this song:

Spunky, right?

The rest of the album isn’t life-changing.

“Spirit of the Living God” is the opening track, and it’s just that. “Savior of the Word” is a good worship song. The next couple are pretty standard worship songs. Then, on the title track, the rapping starts.

The album review on iTunes calls the rap, “ill advised,” and that’s probably a nice way to put it. The term “awkward” also comes to mind.

That same voice, with that same style of “rap” shows up in [almost?] every song on the second half of the album, and kind of ruins it for me.

Spend a dollar on “New Day,” for sure, but maybe listen to the rest of it on YouTube before you invest in this album.
