Pray

For the persecuted

We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies. For we who live are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. 2 Corinthians 4: 8-11

And now, Lord, take note of their threats, and grant that Your bond-servants may speak Your word with all confidence, while You extend Your hand to heal, and signs and wonders take place through the name of Your holy servant Jesus. Acts 4:29-30

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.”
Psalm 91:1-2

 “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

For ISIS

Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Romans 12:14

But Jesus was saying, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.” And they cast lots, dividing up His garments among themselves. Luke 23:34

Then falling on his knees, he cried out with a loud voice, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them!” Having said this, he fell asleep. Acts 7:60

I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, … Ephesians 1:18

Iraqi Christian Relief Council

Voice of the Martyrs Action Pack
Voice of the Martyrs distributes “Action Packs” when the Church faces a humanitarian crisis. They’re large plastic bags filled with basic necessities – clothes, blankets, soap, etc. – and a gospel storybook. You can request an empty one to pack yourself, but given the rapid displacement, we can probably forgo the warm fuzzy feeling of doing it ourselves to send an already-assembled pack as quickly as possible.

International Rescue Committee
A secular organization aiding refugees, that already works in Iraq. If you’re a disciple, I obviously recommend giving to an organization like Voice of the Martyrs that is going to help people practically and spread the gospel. But if you’re not a Christian, and you aren’t comfortable giving money to a Christian organization, give to the IRC.
