No worship event I’d rather be at than a John Mark one.
Last I heard, the “& Friends” was unannounced, but not All The Bright Lights this time. *pouty face* I’m sure whomever it is will be grand.
Matthew 6:14
“If you forgive others for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.”
It’s hard, because we feel like someone doesn’t deserve to be forgiven.
But then again, neither do we deserve to be forgiven.
It’s hard, because we’re hurt, and we have a right to be hurt. What was done to us is not okay, so we feel like it shouldn’t be excused.
But forgiveness is not excuse. Forgiveness doesn’t make the action okay. It just makes you okay.
You’ve probably seen PostSecret, the website and/or the books. It’s probably by that, but it’s healthier. It’s not about sharing secrets that you’ve never told anyone, it’s about publicly forgiving people you need to forgive.
Some friends of mine are headed to South Africa on Sunday. They have family in South Africa, and a new baby niece, to visit, but they’ve chosen to give up part of their vacation to minister in squatter camps and orphanages.
That’s amazing.
These are hard-working people. It’s not like they don’t have enough activity in their lives, but they’re still willing to work through their vacation and give up some of their down-time for the sake of the gospel.
And they need our help.
They were hoping to raise $2000 so they can put together packages of food and household necessities for the people. They have four days, and $600 to go.
Can you pitch in even $20?
They’re giving up their vacation. Can you give up a couple Starbucks runs, or have date night at home this week, to help them out? Clicky.
